Why no comments?
You might have noticed that this blog doesn’t allow comments. While a lot of people say that comments are an integral part of having a blog, I disagree. Blogs without comments are no worse than blogs with comments, and many are better. Whether or not to allow comments should be the blogger’s personal choice. I chose not to enable comments for a few reasons:
-
I’m not really interested in socializing or making friends online, since I’m happy with the friends I have in real life.
-
I don’t like mean people, and I don’t want to run the risk of them commenting on my blog, insulting me, and starting nasty fights, which tends to happen on the Internet when people don’t have to give their real names or talk to others face to face.
-
Most importantly of all, this blog is a place for me to express my opinions. I think of the Imperial Bulletin as my own publication, where I am the editor in chief and the only writer and am free to cover the topics I choose and express the opinions I believe in. This isn’t a site where I want to interact with people, but instead a site where I simply write about what I think.
In conclusion, even though you can’t comment on my site, I hope you enjoy reading it. Some of my views are kind of extreme and you almost definitely won’t agree with all of them, but I hope you find my posts interesting and informative. Conformity is one of my least favorite things, and what makes America great is that people are allowed to express unpopular opinions as well as popular ones. By sharing my unusual views, I like to think that I am contributing to the marketplace of ideas and perhaps even making the world a better place.
